Meet Paula & David

David and Paula Foster met in the third grade in Glasgow, Kentucky. They started dating the latter part of their Junior year, graduated together at age seventeen, and married at age eighteen.

Since that time, these escapees from a small town have been on an amazing adventure.

They’ve raised three beautiful daughters ages 32, 28, and 23, and have planted two churches in the Nashville area in the last twenty three years.

David is a graduate of Free Will Baptist Bible College, Mid-America Theological Seminary in Memphis, and earned his Doctorate in Communications from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi.

Twenty three years ago, David and Paula moved to Nashville to plant a church for people who had given up on organized church and religion, but still believe that a relationship with God is possible. For the last 20 plus years, the Fosters have seen literally thousands of people reclaim their faith, or initiate faith for the first time.

It’s been an amazing journey as the Fosters have planted TheGatheringNashville.com in the Cool Springs area and have seen the very same thing happen as people come to connect to God and each other in a non-threatening, non-religious environment.

David is the author of three best-selling books: The Power to Prevail, Accept No Mediocre Life, and A Renegade’s Guide to God; all published by Warner Faith. The books have been translated into four languages and communicate his no-nonsense approach to faith working its way into the real world.

In these past 39 years, David and Paula have been a team. Where you’ve seen one, you’ve seen the other. Not only has Paula been a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom, but a salesman, a manager, and leading a children’s program that attracted over 600 people a week with over 400 volunteers involved.

During these last 38 years the Fosters have not only led churches and built great organizations, they are also the co-founders of the D & P Group, an educational event resource company that provides training for growing great relationships.

The Fosters have a passion for married people and the struggles they face. Through marriage counseling and seminars they’ve gained a unique understanding of what it takes to grow a great marriage. With the “Making Marriage Fun Again Live Event,” the Fosters bring not only 39 years of academic and professional training, but years of experience in their own lives as they’ve learned to balance career, home, and raising children.
